16 Hour Cab Rides

I’m writing this on a flight from LA to Doha. I’m performing an intimate set at the Doha Film Festival and I can’t wait to meet more of you guys. Being in the air makes reflection easier. On the ground everything feels like survival mode.

Writing like this is vulnerable for me. Friends say I’m not great at being open in real life — I think I put most of it into my music instead.

LA was special. I went back to shoot the music video for my next original single, “Dori Dorak.” And by “went back,” I mean I had been in Dubai for exactly two weeks before turning around again.

Before that I’d just finished a 6–7 week U.S. run: Seattle → Salt Lake → SF → Detroit → New York → Long Island → Detroit again → SF again → San Jose → SF (Palestine Day) → LA.
